ROCK N ROLL ALL NIGHTOk, this will probably be my last post until I come back from Melbourne. For those of you who do not know, I'll be leaving for Melbourne this Sat morning with Marvin. I'm going there to visit some old friends of mine. They are Christians from our church but some of them, they have either migrated there, or some are studying there now. One of them is even getting married there. Too bad I can't stay for the wedding, which will be held in Jan.
Besides visiting, we're gonna watch Marvin's favourite band play live in Melbourne. Motley Crue! I hope that there won't be any riots though. Haha. I just hope that the Australian customs won't give me a hard time too. They always do, lol. Why? Must be my face, look like terrorist. And besides that, there's tension in the air right now because of the drug trafficking incident. I always hate to go through customs, such a bore and a drag. Oh well..
Last night, I really had an unexpected time of my life. I went to vintage with alan and some other friends; isaac, coleman etc. I was just supposed to go there for a short drink and go home. But then, I ended up being DJ for the night again as Jon, the owner, was sick. He's getting sick quite often now. Hmmm.. tio cancer liao? =X
Anyway, we stayed till about 2 plus! Alan went off earlier. Then, we decided to go for supper. So 4 of us, Isaac, Loon, Coleman and myself hopped into Coleman's car and drove to Newton Circus. There, Loon introduced us to the most really really really awesome 3 in 1 prawn noodles. Why 3 in 1? Cos I told the uncle to mix pork ribs, prawns and pig tail into my noodles. They were supposed to be sold seperately. Best prawn noodles I have ever eaten in a really really long time. After that, we had a couple more beers, talked A LOT and then, just as we decided to go, which was already 4 plus, it rained! Heavily! Coleman's car was like 1000 miles away, so we could not walk there. We would have been drenched. So guess what? We sat down, ordered more beers and talked even more, lol. I never laughed so much before.. The stuff that we talked about, haha. Nothing bad though. I had a really great time.
And so the rain stopped. But time didn't. It was 6am! The first bus drove past.. The guys who had to work knew they were in trouble. Haha. I reached home at ard 645.. the sky was bright, and my parents and 2 dogs were awake. Gosh. Checked my emails and went to sleep after my bath.
Things to do before I leave for Melbourne : Print name cards. Meet Alvin to pass him his share of name cards. Spend some time with my family. Escape from people who are asking me to include them in my shopping list. Haha. That's about it, I guess. I'll see you guys really soon k? Bye!

A New LookI finally managed to hang my guitars on the wall after much effort and help from my dad. We had many unsuccessful attempts because the screws which were included with the guitar hangars were too short. We had to use longer ones with some reinforcements. Had a bad expercience too cos when one of my basses was hanging on the wall, the hangar actually gave way and my bass came crashing down :( Luckily, it's still working fine. Nevermind about it's cosmetic condition, cos it looks really rugged already, which is a good thing. Here are some pics of the guitars :
This is before my bass dropped.
A close up shot.
Another close up shot.
This is after everything was re-done again. Notice the green streak which is painted on the wall. Yup, my dad did that to cover up all the 'holes which failed'. We did lots of drilling.
Notice anything different or familiar? Yesterday (sunday) was a really really long day for me and some others. Had a devo at 830am in the morning, lunch at marvin's place after service, went to play DOTA after that, came back to church for band practice with Kev, lex and Marvin at 8 plus and finished everything at 11 plus. Oh yes, we (Kev, me, Lex and Marvin) are gonna have a gig this friday on a ship, so exciting! It's a private function by Dee's company. Dee is a sister from the northwest (Leon's wife) Leon is Dee's husband is a brother from the northwest marrieds who was from the east. Haha. Looking forward to playing on the ship. Will try to post some pics of the gig if possible. Ever notice that the weather has been extremely hot lately? And the worst part is that my aircon is not functioning properly. It's not as cold. Argh. Gonna take a cold shower now. See you guys!

Busy morning/afternoonToday, I decided to pack up my room cos the mess is getting unbearable. There's still a lot of stuff to be cleared. So far, I cleared about like 2 thrash bags full of junk. My room looks a bit neater now. I would show you guys some pics but I can't cos I do not have a digi cam like some people do. Lol. Also, I have to get my 2 guitars hung on my room wall. That means drilling holes in the walls! Fun! All I need to get now are those rubber like reinforcement thingys to insert them into the drilled holes. They provide extra support. Waiting to see if Kev can spare me some or not, if not gotta go buy.In the afternoon, I did something which I do not usually do at all. I cooked soup for my family. Haha. Chopped up some pork soft bones, some carrots, corn, onions and potatoes and some peanuts, yes. These make the super really tasty and sweet. Boiled the pork soft bones for about an hour plus, added in the rest of the stuff and boiled it for about another hour or slightly less. Well, I would use the really big pork bones, something like tulang cos it's much much better, but I could not get it, so..oh well. The soup's great :) Wanna try? Here's a tiny pic :
Gonna continue cleaning up my room soon. Keep you guys posted again :)

FUN!
It has definitely been a eventful weekend and week for me so far. On Sunday after church, my group had lunch with House of Rock. It was Marvin's birthday too. So we celebrated and shared for him, and after that, it was off to play DOTA with the rest, you should know who la. If not, then ask, LoL. KOP needs to be fragged :P And no, the items pictured below can't be bought here, so pls stop clicking on them already..

Anyway, the highlight for Sunday was Marvin's birthday gig at a place in Boat Quay called The Actor's Pub, or something like that. It was supposedly Slingshot's ( the name of our band) ever first public performance. Everything happened so last minute. I never expected that we would find a place to perform/jam. Click HERE to Kev's blog for more details about how we got the place. On the whole, it was a fun jam, also because I knew most of the people there so I was not so insecure and could be quite out of myself. A few unexpected people turned up too, and I was really glad to see them. Jo and Marilyn were some of them. Bun Bun was not there though, haha. Next time you must come ok? Really unexpected, haha. Thanks for coming down to support, all of you! Here are some pics I 'stole' from Dewey's blog. Haha..

It was fun though we made quite a few mistakes here and there, cos it really was an unrehearsed performance, but overall, I think we did pretty ok. Any inputs for the band? :)
Ok, till the next update then.. See ya!
